23-25 May 2008
Group camp at Nowhurst

Our whole group camped together at Nowhurst in May 2008. The Beavers visited us on the Sunday. Here are our photos from the event

Washing up

The Cubs have to do their own washing up at camp

Ready for flag break

The Cubs and Scouts stand round the flag

Briefing from the GSL

Steve addresses the group to let us know what is happening for the rest of the day

Go bananas

The Cubs put the chocolate buttons into their bananas ready to put them on the fire

Burning nicely

Graham soon has the girls fire alight

Catching up

Raksha and Ann take a break before starting lunch

Marshmallows

I tend to find they cook better if you put them near the fire

Yummy

I'm sure Jodie enjoyed her banana

Delicious

Callum tucks into his cooked banana

Something different

Louis has melted his marshmallow onto chocolate biscuits

Tucking in

More bananas

Our tents

The Cubs tents line up in the sun

Lunch

Parbrook cubs line up at Ann's sandwich bar

Alfresco dining

We took advantage of the nice weather and ate outside

Keep pumping

Jamie has the first go at the bottle rockets

Woosh

There it goes - leaving a trail of water behind

More visitors

The Beavers popped in to find out more about camping

Welcome break

Ann thinks she is still in Tenerife as she enjoys the County Times on the sun terrace

Lift off

Laurie sends another bottle into space

The tea is on

Ann and Raksha prepare the chicken for tea

Inside the tents

The Parbrook tent has passed its inspection

Camp fire

The Cubs and Beavers joined together for a camp fire

There aint no flies on us

Well that is what they said but I have a feeling that there may be flies on some of you guys...

No tents

With weather warnings out for strong winds and heavy rain we took the Cubs tents down on Saturday evening while they were still dry

Oh dear

In our rush to move the kit into the building it appears that we have buried George

Tight fit

The Cubs were a bit packed in but being the second night they were so tired that they hardly noticed

Girls bedroom

We partitioned off a section for the girls but could still hear the giggles over the noise of the rain on the roof

Sunday breakfast

Raksha dishes up bacon, eggs, beans and of course fried potatoes

Washing up

The Cubs do the dishes outside

Sunday lunch

The rain cleared away by the morning so we were able to have lunch outside again
