This year's Remembrance Sunday parade
was held on Sunday
14 November. We attended as a group along with our friends from the
other Bracknell groups.
We met at the Bus Station at 9.45am,
from where we walked to the war memorial (near Princess
Square) for the wreath laying ceremony (which started at
10.15am). We then marched
through the town centre and along the ring road to Holy
Trinity Church. The service started at 10.50am and will last
for about an hour.
After the service
we marched back to the war memorial where the parade
was dismissed at around 12 noon.
The groups were invited to have
some soft refreshments in one of the upstairs rooms of the
British Legion.
We had this
message from Revd Mark Ackford at Holy
Trinity
"Thank
you for the wonderful turn out for the Remembrance Parade, I
know that it meant a great deal to the members of the
British Legion that so many young people were willing to
come along to the parade and service and remember those who
have died for our freedom. Can you also thank the Scouts who
read the prayers so well, it was lovely to have both old and
young generations involved in the service."
Thanks to Pat Donnelly we have some pictures of the event

Waiting
The only trouble with Remembrance Sunday is that there is a lot of waiting about |
|

Bagpipes
The ceremony is always lead by the pipers |

Ready to start
Everybody is in place ready for the wreath laying service to begin |

Quick march
We are on the approach to Holy Trinity. The ambulance at the rear is part of our parade. Thomas has had to stop (again) to do up his shoe |

More waiting
You'd think that a nice march would warm you up but standing around outside the church was a bit chilly despite the bright sunshine |
